Can i go to jail i am scared?

I got a call from collecters and said i had made a bad check and if i din't pay them they was going to put a warrant our on me. Can i go to jail for this and how long? I am scared i herd you get handcuffed to the hospital bed to i have heart trouble and in out the hospital alout someone please let me Know thanks I am not a bad person just made a mistake i can pay
